My day-job is software testing. Sometimes more than just a tester, a QA Analyst.
While I surf the Web, for instance, I can’t help but notice bugs of all caliber. My brain works as a website grader in the background!
Here’s an example that I picked up on the recently delivered (July 14th) My Yahoo beta:
1. Add an RSS feed to your My Yahoo page.
2. Open the RSS feed.
Expected result: the feed displays up to 5 items from the past 3 days. This is the default. If there was no content in the last 3 days, an appropriate message will be displayed.
Actual result: the feed is never displayed. The loading process is freezing with “Loading…” displayed under the RSS name.
Reproducible: the bug can be reproduced both in IE and Mozilla, on any feed.
Work around: change the settings. For example, set the feed to display 3 items from Any Time.
I went on and attempted to send the bug to My Yahoo. Surprise! Their “Submit a bug” link is broken -))
