Daddy Juventus, son Manchester United, mom Barcelona

My son’s name is Santi, and is inspired by the great Real Madrid striker Santillana.

I saw Santillana when I was 14, in the fall of 1982, in my little hometown, deep in the heart of Transylvania. It was a miracle, the great Real Madrid visiting a second-league team for a game part of a UEFA competition (cup winners’ competition).

By that time I was a Juventus fan (Paolo Rossi, Platini, Boniek), and still am.

But my son is named after a Real Madrid striker, and I hope he will become their fan.

So…here we are. Santi is a 3-year old boy, ready for some football action this summer, asking for his football shirt, boots, ball!

We went to the store, and the only kit available for his size was…Manchester United. I bought it anyway, and it will be the kid’s decision later if he’ll switch it or not for Real or…Toronto FC?

  1. Bestial copchil, bestiala poza. La fotbal ma pricep mai putin, so no comment la echipele de fotbal – da’ dupa afinitati ma fac fana la numele de pe tricoul lui Santi.
