2014 look back

In retrospect, 2014 was an eventful and memorable year.

I published a song!
In February, I published the first song that I made end-to-end.
It’s in Romanian language, it has a funk vibe and it’s called John Dracula.
 **
I co-wrote and recorded the song with the amazing Mihai Zaharia, a longtime musician of Romanian origin, established in Toronto.
Mihai Zaharia, my co-writer and band mate for the first ever single that I wrote and recorded.

Writing and recording a song is a thrilling experience, and a humbling one, too. I am grateful  to my friend Mihai for his patience during the process, playing all the instruments, mixing the song, and guiding me through the journey.
Live concerts
May >> Seattle’s Lucky Brown’s Annual Northwest Deep Funk Festival (Polyrhythmics! ) & The Staxx Brothers with Dr. Fink (of Prince fame). Both concerts at the superb Nectar Lounge.

LUCKY BROWN == As anybody in Seattle, he was warmly welcoming me. His show later that night blew the house out. I didn't dance for dozens of years like I danced in front of Lucky Brown's band!

Hometown trip
Had a great time in June traveling to hometown Baia Mare, in Northern Transylvania, Romania. Spent time with my mother, sister and niece, friends, and took these pictures.

“Long time no see”
I spent valuable time with people that I haven’t met for too many years: Daniel Bustan (he works in animation in Montreal), Ann Corn and Kiru (of the cult Romanian prog band of the 1990, D’aia)

Roger Waters
Roger Waters spent his September birthday launching his THE WALL 2014 movie in Toronto. I was there, front row.

Back on radio duty
I happily accepted a small gig on a Romanian online radio, Radio Trib. Kirk, the radio’s owner, is a longtime friend and well respected radio personality in Romania’s capital, Bucharest.

And finally, just before Christmas, I graduated the Masters Certificate in Business Analysis program at prestigious Schulich School of Business in Toronto.
