Four books to read in Cuba this winter

It’s December 2017 and Toronto broke a 57-year old cold temperature record. Time to book a last-minute to the blue-white paradise, and pack a good book.

I read them while vacationing in Cuba. It is delectable following the trials and tribulations of the characters while enjoying a mojito, not far from where the action was.

Exquisite writing and storytelling from Canadian historian Robert Wright

To Have and Have Not
Connecting Florida Keys and Havana, this is a book EH wrote at the beginning of his career.
Islands in the Stream
Chasing German U-Boats on the North Cuban coast during WWII
Our Man in Havana
Written and published just before the Cuban revolution that brought Fidel Castro to power.
